Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.5.85) OS: Linux Kmail2 included with 4.6 beta2 is close to unusable. The migration from kmail migrated the emails, but kmail2 would not retrieve new messages any more. So I started with an empty configuration and recreated everything. And it worked for a bit, downloaded the emails, but now it justs sits there. If I want to open an email it just displays "Retrieving Folder Contents Please wait . . ." message. It also doesn't download new messages that I know are there. And it has been after a clean reboot of the system. No progress bars, no activity, nothing is going on, just this message, which disappears after a while and just shows an empty email. I haven't had those problems with kmail 2.0.95 and akonadi 1.5.80 yet.

and the message just sent was from kmail 4.7.3 on kubuntu 11.10. would be happy to give more info upon request.
I have tested KMail2 again and again and now I get the same behavior on 4.8.0 too. Is it that KMail (or whatever the actual process behind it) cannot properly handle multiple tasks simultaneously, eg. syncing the account and retrieving a message from the account? And why is the bug's status WAITINGFORINFO?
It seems there are many reports of the same issue. As the older ones exist, maybe resolve the current as duplicate of eg. 257970?
