Description Anne-Marie Mahfouf 2010-12-04 10:15:12 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Sometimes a dialog appears from Akonadi Agent telling the user that Nepomuk is not working and that the Pim applications will not be indexed.
1) this dialog is inaccurate, it sends to a page which is not helpful and should directly point to

http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting#Nepomuk_Indexing_Agents_have_been_Disabled

It says that Nepomuk is not active which is wrong, it was apparently Strigi not indexing.
It should point to System Settings Desktop Search instead of having the user read several pages and issuing commands in terminal.

2) the dialog does not explain what is missing: what is indexing? for what application? what will I miss exactly?

Reproducible: Always

This dialog doesn't exist anymore since a few month.
