[Comment from a bug triager] - Does this happen if you use other Phonon backends like Xine or GStreamer ? (this test is just to determine if this could be fault of the VLC Phonon backend or may be it is a different thing) Regards
Hi The phonon backend is VLC. I switched to VLC from Xine to utilize digital sound playback rather than analog. I have not setup for Gstreamer. Backend is not listed in Phonon. Have a nice day, Thanks ;Trisha Lyn On Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 8:45 AM, Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com>wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258333 > > > Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| |andresbajotierra@gmail.com > > > > > --- Comment #1 from Dario Andres <andresbajotierra gmail com> 2010-12-14 > 16:45:27 --- > [Comment from a bug triager] > - Does this happen if you use other Phonon backends like Xine or GStreamer > ? > (this test is just to determine if this could be fault of the VLC Phonon > backend or may be it is a different thing) > Regards > > -- > Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug. >
[Comment from a bug triager] - Did Dolphin stop crashing when using the Xine backend ? (just to test this crash. You can go back to the VLC backend later) Thanks
Hi Dario I did not work with Xine. It had a lack of features (no digital output) compared to VLC. I will try to check this out today as soon as I can get to it. If I can get this feature to work, I get alot more interest from those I demo to. It's very impressive to preview and play back in Dolphin. All of a sudden Linux is something to see. Make any recommendations, I will do my best to follow thru 4 U. LINUX EXPERIENCE LEVEL ABOUT 18 MONTHS. PC EXPERIENCE LEVEL 9 YEARS Thanks again ;Trisha On Wed, Dec 15, 2010 at 6:37 AM, Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com>wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258333 > > > > > > --- Comment #3 from Dario Andres <andresbajotierra gmail com> 2010-12-15 > 14:37:08 --- > [Comment from a bug triager] > - Did Dolphin stop crashing when using the Xine backend ? Hi Dario Phonon with Xine backend; WMV works fine FLV no sound MP4 No sound Unfortunately still crashes with Xine. Dolphin Doesnt freeze with either backend, just poof and is gone. reopens fine NOTE - With VLC backend, Sometimes requires activation of WMV file to get sound then FLV, and MP4 will have sound Thanks again, I'm out for the day, but will watch the inbox Trisha Lyn On Wed, Dec 15, 2010 at 7:54 AM, Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com>wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258333 > > > Dario Andres <andresbajotierra@gmail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| |sitter@kde.org > > > > > --- Comment #5 from Dario Andres <andresbajotierra gmail com> 2010-12-15 > 14:54:57 --- > Thanks > > -- > Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email > ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- > You reported the bug. >
