Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.3) OS: Linux I have got difficulites in starting kontact. To find the reason I createt a new user. Now Kontact ist starting butif I try to change to the kontacts (kadressbook) I get "Der Akonadi-Dienst zur ...arbeitet nicht richtig." And "Nepomuk-Suchdienst nicht am D-Bus registriert!" .. "Version des Server-Protokolls zu alt" ... "Früheres Fehlerprotokoll des Akonadi-Servers gefunden" ..."Früheres Fehlerprotokoll des Akonadi-Steuerprogramms gefunden" Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Create a new User - switch to it - start kontact - try to start kadressbook Actual Results: kadressbook does not start Expected Results: It should show kontacts - But it does not even work with a new user. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop Compiler: gcc
I can think of one possible reason: at the last update I PIM was updated to KDE 4.6 with kmail 2xx. (Might be from Factory) I deinstalled it, because nothing was working any more and installed KDE 4.5 again. Now kmail does work again, but kaddressbook doesnot. I would be very glad if you could help me. I am thinking of doing an new installation. But I realy dont want to- I am using linux. ;-) Best Regards Norbert
Created attachment 53903 [details] example of Akonadi settings I had to delete, add and check the resources. I went back to 4.5.3 too, than back to Beta1 again. Now it seems to be OK enough, some minor glitches only.
As the error message already says, you are using an incompatible version of kdepimlibs and the Akonadi server. So try to fix your installation, then everything should work fine :) Ciao, Tobias
