Version:           unspecified (using KDE 1.2) 
OS:                Linux

Kmymoney version: 1.0.4 using KDE 3.5.10 under Ubuntu with linux release (i686) 2-6-32-25-generic.

I have about 12 different accounts in Kmymoney. Opening ledger of all these accounts works well with the exception of one : the ledger is not displayed and the system suddenly hangs, and I am forced to quit (at the bottom the ledger loading bar stops at 98%)

I experience the same problems with backups files that used to work previously .... 

Would appreciate your help. This problem prevents me to use my database.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
when I try to open the incriminated ledger, but not with other ledgers.

Actual Results:  
the full system hangs, and after a while the system forces me to quit.

Expected Results:  
It should have opened the ledger

Did you try to upgrade to version 1.0.5?

First I am impressed by the rapidity of feedabck. Thanks.

The issue is that the version that I currently have is the standard installed by Ubuntu from the Ubuntu Software Center. 

I am not a linux specialist, so installing the version 1.0.5 is not as trivial as you might imagine...

I have however downloaded the version 1.0.5, extracted the files to find some instrcutions, and I have tried to follow instructions from the Install file, but I get an error message from the first commande.

Once position in the directory containing the package, I entered the command as per instruction, and received the follwing message:
./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for -p flag to install... yes
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for kde-config... not found
configure: error: The important program kde-config was not found!
Please check whether you installed KDE correctly.

So next question 'how to install kde. Since I had the previous version installed it seemd to me that KDE should be installed..... These are mystery of Linux.

I tried to find what I needed on the kde.org website, but I am puzzled about what I need exaclty and what version....On the page: http://www.kde.org/info/4.4.0.php, I ound a list of a dozen of different KDE Sw??? 

Can you help?

Try this here:

   https://edge.launchpad.net/~claydoh/+archive/ppa

which should allow you to upgrade to 1.0.5 for ubuntu. (Haven't tested this myself, just found the link.)

Installing the software from the sources demands quite some effort, let's try to avoid that for now.

Seems that my problem is resolved. I could open the faulty ledger.
