Description Dan 2010-11-23 13:40:43 UTC
Version: 3.98.x
OS: Linux

The word "remboursement" is not avalaible at my sense, "Dépense" or "Débit" would be better i think.

Reproducible: Didn't try

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.33.7-desktop-2mnb
Compiler: gcc

Hi,

Could you post this to the French translators mailing list (kde-francophone@kde.org) since they are the ones responsible for the translation.
After it gets fixed could you also close the bug?

Thanks,
Cristian

Please Daniel tell us
1) what application it is
2) what KDE version
3) what the wrong string is
4) what do you suggest

Thanks in advance
Comment 3 Dan 2010-11-23 18:08:09 UTC
Sorry,
since i launched the bug report directly from Kmymoney, i believed that all was reported about application and version.

1. Kmymoney 4.5.1
2. KDE 4.4.3
3. Wrong string : "remboursement"
4. My suggestion : "Débit" or "Retrait" or "Dépense"

However, very good job for this new version.
Thanks for all.

Good morning,
can you submit a screenshot of where "remboursement" is wrong in the context, I remember translating "payment" as "remboursement" because it was often in the context of a loan ("prêt") so it seemed "remboursement" was the best fit.

For example:
#: kmymoney/wizards/newaccountwizard/knewaccountwizard.cpp:260
#, kde-format
msgid "Loan payment for %1"
msgstr "remboursement de prêt pour %1"

There is 146 occurences of "remboursement" in the po file so I need more context to find it.

Sincerly yours,

Good morning,
In French, the word "remboursement" is only use to pay a debt or monthly , a loan.

I agree but what I meant is that the original english word "payment" can mean both "remboursement" and "virement" depending on the context. I will fix this
Sincerly yours,

Comment 8 Anne-Marie Mahfouf 2010-11-24 11:46:58 UTC
Simon thanks for taking care of this! If you commit directly to KDE svn you can close the report by adding
BUG=257695
in the log message on a new line.
If you go through Sebatien, maybe tell him to commit with adding this tag!
