Hej Ludwig,

here some infos about search, which might help you on further testing:
We had a bug in strigi (the search engine) which prevents new entries (e.g. emails coming to inbox) to show up in search results, only already available entries have been shown. This bug should be fixed in recent version as shipped today.
Another thing is the behavior of the indexer. If you receive new emails or enter new contacts/events/todos, the indexer will start indexing only when the system is inactive. So to make sure the data are really indexed before starting a search, wait 15 seconds (without any user input) after adding data and before starting a search. This behavior is of course suboptimal, we have to find a better solution in the future, but for the moment it prevents the system from starting indexing large imap folders while the user works with the device.

Ciao,
Tobias

Windows CE Contact Touch 2011-01-16 git-4d1bc61
test of the description with older contacts failed.

I select the Kolab contacts folder, Search for Contacts, enter the surname of a contact and press search, but no contact is found.

Reopened.

Hej Ludwig,

looks like your search index had not been created properly. Works fine here with a clean setup and completely created index.

Ciao,
Tobias

On WinCE the search has been tested and i can verify that this works there but i am not sure about maemo.

Search for contacts doesn't work on maemo with 4.6~.20110214.1233.gitb901f2e-1maemo1.1219908.
I tried to search for Foo Bar (who is one of my contact in a test account an is still shown in the list view) in all folders but the result shown 0 found contact.

Please retest on wince to be sure that this is only a maemo issue.

Search for contacts worked here, so a n900 problem.
