Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.3) OS: Linux Somehow my categories become multiplied over time. I have up to twenty entries with the same name in my categories list for each category. I cleaned them up once, but they appear again. I don't know whether it would cause data loss (especially when I delete double entries), but it might, so it could be a serious bug. Reproducible: Always OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-22-generic Compiler: cc
I have the same problem. Each time, kaddressbook is restarted all catergories are increased by 1, each single. And deleting them does not work, an empty category keeps staying alive. Very very bad.
Any updates on this?
Hi, I have given up and changed to evolution..... My data have been too important. Sorry, Karsten.
The Category module should filter each category instead of reporting of each and every index hit that Nepomuk comes up with. I noticed this also with Dolphin and tags. Select a tag, and the list for each tag has many entries for each. From what I see there should be some kind of sort and filter routine so the list only shows one tag per entry.
Hi, i have a problem wich kan be thew same. I have empty categories and when they are aktive, there name is neopomuk:/res/...... . If i delete nepomuk database they are gone but if i ad a tag to kadressbook they increased.
Hi, at the moment, i see that sis bug is for Ubuntu. I have open Suse and kde 4.6.00

I have open Suse and kde > 4.6.00 Hi, I think there is a routine missing controlling the Tag function that , like a unique index in a database, sorts out the multiples, and presents one of each tag. I don't think this is confined to any particular distro, it is in the Nepomuk, or Akonadi control routines. You change a category in Kaddressbook, and suddenly you have every tag listed in the box! This does not happen in Korganizer, because you create the tags like earlier versions, and they are stored in the config files. I have done the Nepomuk delete, and the Akonadi fix . The problem is still there, so I believe a control is missing. Harry.

Hi, I have had the tags "Run Amok" like you have experienced. I think there is no routine there to make unique each tag for selection. Open the dialog for a category in Kaddressbook, and after it gathers up the tags, there are numerous of each tag presented. Harry.
This is a very annoying bug for me because I use the Categories feature quite often when managed my contacts. I have about twenty duplicates of every tag listed when I edit Categories. This bug also causes the check boxes for selecting the categories to act very oddly when editing. Linux 2.6.37.6-0.7-default, openSUSE 11.4 (i586), KDE 4.6.5 "release 8", Kontact/KAddressBook 4.4.11
Yep, long time standing bug, still present in the Kubuntu KDE 4.8 repos. Just installed it yesterday but all categories are still there x times. If you delete them, you lose all your categories.... And why is this bug still "UNCONFIRMED"?
