- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Kate crashed when I pressed the "X" button. There were 3 files open, and one of them was modified externaly. 
When I pressed the "X" button, Kate asked me about this modified file. 
I selected "overwrite" and the crash assitant appeared.

I haven't been able to reproduce this bug but the assintant said that the information is (or should it have said "could be") usefull. Sorry if it isn't.
