KDE4/5 /K3B can't find the CD s /dev/sr0 or /dev/cdrom (a link) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: start X execute K3B chose a file.iso and as requested insert a blank CD. it never selects the drive as it did before. Is the hal daemon running? If not, make sure it is.
You may have hit it. I checked "ps" looking for hal - nothing found. I used yast2 and reloaded them and checked /etc/init.d. You found it! There start script is the problem. Thanks for the place to look
