Description Sabine Faure 2010-11-22 00:59:29 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

While browsing to select a file to be attached to an email, a file size is not always displayed in the 'Open file' dialogue.

However, attaching a huge file is a problem because the N900 is stuck for a long while while attempting to send the email afterward.

So I think the user needs to be aware of the file size she wishes to attach to avoid that as much as possible.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on 'Write new Email'
- Enter a subject, a recipient (your imap inbox) and a few words in the text
editor
- Open the 'paper clip' tab
- Click on 'add attachment'
- An 'Open file' dialogue appears

Actual Results:
In it you can see that most files have a date and time displayed underneath their names but only a few of them have their sizes, especially the pictures (user/photos) and mp3 files.

Expected Results:
The file sizes should all be displayed to prevent that the user attaches a huge file without realizing it.

Hej,

we use the native dialogs here (in this case the one from Maemo) which seems to be buggy. On WinCE there are no file sizes shown in the dialog at all, so no relevance for komo3.

Ciao,
Tobias

I agree this is an issue. However I believe it goes beyond what we can do in
the Komo3 contract.
