Description Sabine Faure 2010-11-19 22:29:30 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

The 'Add Quote Characters' functionality works only on the first line when applying it to several lines.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Click on 'Write new email'
- Enter at least two lines of text in the Composer text editor
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Edit'
- Click on 'Add Quote Characters'
- Note that only the first line has a '>' symbol in front of it eventhough the two lines are displayed in green
- Click on 'Send'
- The email is properly sent and received
- Click on it from your inbox to view its content

Actual Results:
Only the first line of text is displayed in green (as quoted text) the second line is displayed in black as standard text.

Expected Results:
A '>' symbol should be added in front of every line of quoted text in the composer.

Once the email is sent and the user opens it all the quoted lines should be displayed in green properly.

Hej Sabine,

I guess that's a misunderstanding. Even though the text is layed out on two lines, it is only one logical line (e.g. it doesn't contain a line break character). Therefor only the start of the first line is prefixed with a '>'.

If you go to the middle of the line and press <Enter>, then you'll see that two physical lines are created and both have the '>' quoting character prepended.
That's the expected behavior and equivalent to the desktop version.

Ciao,
Tobias

Hi Tobias!

Thx for the info. ;o)

Since it is the expected behavior I am closing this bug.
