Description Sabine Faure 2010-11-17 23:29:42 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

The 'Replace smileys by emoticons' functionality does not work.

It seems that it has not been implemented yet.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- Open the 'Actions' tab
- Click on 'Mail'
- Click on 'Configure'
- In the Appearance section, check the 'Replace smileys by emoticons' if not already checked by default
- Click on 'Ok'
- Click on 'Write New Email'
- Enter a subject, a recipient (your Imap inbox) and a few words as well as smileys (ie ;o) :( :/ ) in the Composer text editor
- Click on 'Send' button
- The email is properly sent and received
- Click on it from your Imap Inbox to display its content

Actual Results:
The smileys are displayed as they were typed and not as emoticons.

Expected Results:
The smileys should be replaced by emoticons

Hej,

this should be fixed already since 2-3 weeks. It was a bug in the usage of webkit.
Please retest.

Ciao,
Tobias

Emoticons aren't replaced by icons with version 4:4.6~20101130.1202233-1maemo1.1202030. Option to replace emoticons is selected.
Comment 3 Volker Krause 2010-12-02 10:31:20 UTC
Caused by missing kdelibs5-emoticons package.
Comment 4 Bjoern Ricks 2010-12-02 11:07:23 UTC
Volker you are right (as always) ;-)
I'll add a dependency to the package
Comment 5 Volker Krause 2010-12-03 18:08:03 UTC
Fixed in revision 1202792.
Comment 6 Sabine Faure 2010-12-10 20:57:23 UTC
Indeed it is corrected now.

Smileys typed as plain text are replaced by emoticons now when viewing the email content.

Example of emoticons working: ;) :) :(
