Description Unknown 2010-11-16 00:52:36 UTC
Version: unspecified
OS: Linux

Running Red Hat 5.3/KDE on Dell T7500 or T7400s. During Desktop Sharing with krdc/krfb, the cursor on the shared display is slow and then disappears. Can see the desktop icons highlight when cursor moves over, but cannot see cursor. Does not happen with Red Hat 4.4/KDE. Very hard to help our users if we cannot see where they/we move the cursor during a shared session.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
On machine with user problem, start krfb. On support machine, start krdc and key in the host ip and display, then type in password. After display is shared move mouse (cursor) on support machine (shared). Notice that the cursor is at first sluggish, then will disappear or stay in one place.

Actual Results:
Included above.

Expected Results:
Cursor moves with ease and accuracy on both shared and host machines, as in Red Hat 4.4/KDE.

Please try enabling local cursor while connected. This may be an issue with krfb not sending the cursor to the remote client.

Thanks, that seemed to fix the problem. I still think it is a bug because the behavior changed from RH 4.4 to 5.3.

What KRDC version have you used in RH 4.4?

Sorry, Urs. I could not find a version number in RH 4.4. If you have time, please give me a hint on where to find it. If we set local cursor up, it seems to help in RH 5.3, but is not as nice as RH 4.4. Thanks.
