Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.3) OS: Linux I have just upgraded to 4.5.3 (compiz is not active) and I haven't had problems before. Now the screen, without warning, turns black and no input is possible. BUT the last soundbuffer (ca 5 sek) is repeated endlessly. I have had problems with sound from Skype and Spotify after the upgrade. No sound is heard but pulseaudio acts as if Skype is active. There are no problem with sound in Gnome including Skype and Spotify. I have looked in the logfiles but I really isn't certain where to look. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: I Just happens I don't think I done any special. But Gnomeprogram like Rhytmbox is stuttering while Amarok doesn't
Sounds like a kernel problem. Please check: * What other components/packages did you update besides KDE? * Do you use Intel integrated graphics? * Is the problem reproducible if you do not use compositing (Alt+Shift+F12)?

I even renamed .kde on /home in order to get a fresh KDE (/home is a separate partition). Would you like a list of some kind? I have NVIDIA GEFORCE 6900 GS I haven't used Alt+Shift+F12 at all. Or do you ask me to disable Alt+Shift+F12 and then check again. /Inge Lundqvist
Fedora (14) made a large update of KDE recently which obviously fixed the problem
