Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2) OS: Linux Currently, system config printer doesn't allow one to change the printer's name. In most case a home user will use the default name provided by the automatic setup. This can create difficulties for others to choose the right printer. Here I describe two real cases: 1. Home network: 2 users have automaticaly setup the same usb printer as local. As this is automatic setup, both use the same default name. Sometimes user B wants to print over the network using the shared printer from user A. He is confused by the names (in the worst case he only see its local printer). 2. Small company network: you join a network with your own laptop. The company and you are using the same printer model, with the same name. Both printers are shared. Everyone is confused because of the same name. Reproducible: Always OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-5-amd64 Compiler: cc
