Description yuzyk 2010-11-08 10:21:20 UTC
Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

KDE 3 toolbars had two separators: a vertical bar and a blank space. KDE 4 only has the bar separator. The blank space separator made for less-fussy toolbar clusters.

Reproducible: Didn't try

The line separator is visible between tool bars, the blank spacing between tool bar icons is requested by the application.

It is possible that the application does not request the blank spacing. Check the uirc files if there are any separators (used as spacing) mentioned.

How and if the separator and spacing is visible, depends on the used style. Assuming you are using Oxygen style, I am reassigning to Oxygen.

I'm confused.
For oxygen, (systemsettings -> Application Appearance -> style->configure), the first option is "draw toolbar separators". And if you uncheck it (it is checked by default), this does as requested. (it does work here)

Is this the feature you ask for ? Or do I miss something ?

Yes, in the Oxygen Style, but not others. I didn't know it existed already
in some styles - in 3.5 it was just there and in 4.x it wasn't, in the MS
Windows 9x style which doesn't offer any Configure options. So I guess this
bug should be registered against that style.

Reassigning then

The Windows 9x style is part of the Qt toolkit. Please report this to Nokia via http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/

I doubt that they are going to change that, though.
