Sorry, but your backtrace is not useful, as you are lacking debugging symbols. If you can reproduce this bug, please check here on how to get a valid backtrace: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Since you are using Kubuntu, you will need amarok-dbg and phonon-dbg at least, ideally you should also have kdelibs5-dbg, libqt4-dbg and libglib2.0-0-dbg. That should cover most of the crashes.
Myriam, Hello. I am running regular Ubuntu not Kubuntu. Are these still the packages I need to produce a use full backtrace? Thanks. Yes, you need these packages also on Ubuntu, since Amarok is a KDE application, so you need the kdelibs and the Qt debugging packages as well.

Could you both please try again with Amarok 2.4 beta? This should be solved already in the next version. See also http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.4-beta-1 on how to get the beta version. Don't worry, it is pretty stable and fixes a lot of bugs of the previous version.
I will install & try. Any news on this?

2.3.2 is a little outdated. Can't you use a current version?
Ralf, Will update on the weekend if I have time. What is your recommended version? I recommend trying 2.4 and if the problem happens there too, then try 2.4.1 beta (from the Amarok homepage) and add the crash report to this bug entry.

Any news on this? Without feedback within 2 weeks I will close this as fixed.
Closing for lack of feedback. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce this with Amarok 2.4.2 beta 1 or later and provide the necessary feedback.
