Description animtim 2010-11-05 19:34:57 UTC
Version: svn trunk (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

I would like to have an "Onto" blending mode, to can use shapes and/or ordinary paint layer as mask.

( For instance in a layer group, setting the top layer with the picture to display to Onto mode, the layer(s) under is/are the mask(s) )

Another way would be to have an Alpha blending mode, doing the opposite
( then in a layer group, the picture to display would be the last one, and layers above in Alpha blending mode would be the masks )

So having at least one of these modes would do the trick! (having both modes would be perfect )

For reference these blending modes exist in Synfig studio (you may take a look at their code to have an idea)

Reproducible: Always

EDIT: Forget about the "alpha" one, it makes much less sense than the "Onto" one.

Erase this one.
Not necessary anymore with the new alpha switch.
