Description Jeroen Tietema 2010-11-04 23:37:13 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

lock screen will only work once per session. First time it works as expected, but second time nothing happens.

Same goes for the screensaver. First time it starts normal, locking works. But second time nothing happens.

Also found this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245329
Symtoms look the same, but kscreenlocker works fine. When calling it from the command line it locks my screen perfectly even second and third times.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Reproduction path:
1. Press CTRL-ALT-L to lock screen
2. The screen is locked
3. Unlock the screen
4. Press CTRL-ALT-L to lock the screen again
5. Nothing happens (also via menu or powerdevil no luck)

Actual Results:
Screen doesn't lock second time.

Expected Results:
Screen should lock normally second, third, etc. time.

I also have a bugreport open at Opensuse: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=651293

I'm running Opensuse 11.3 with KDE 4.5.3
The bug started showing after upgrade from Opensuse 11.2 with KDE 4.4.(5?)

The screen locker architecture changed with Plasma 5. The classic screen savers are no longer supported. The 4.x series won't see any further feature development, so this bug report won't be implemented as it doesn't apply to our current version any more.

I want to thank you for your bug report and for helping improving the quality of our software and I'm sorry that we were not able to provide a fix before we retired the affected component.
