Sample report

Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

Hi,
I'm on a fully updated Arch 64b/ KDE 4.5.2 KmyMoney 4.5.0.
Whenever KmyMoney performs consistency checks (e.g., before saving) it complaints that there is no opening price for several tens of securities.
The problem:
a. There is a price for all these securities, and when I produce a report (see attachment) for one (of those) security, it promptly reports all respective transactions but with a price of 1.
b. None of these securities appears in the price editor (I've tried to manually enter prices..). BTW, as KmyMoney does NOT support on-line pricing from the Israeli stock exchange, I enter prices manually (wish you'd add TASE -Tel Aviv Stock Exchange too, but that's unrelated..).

Please advise!
BTW- the problem appeared in former versions too..
Thanks

Reproducible: Didn't try

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35-ARCH
Compiler: gcc

a) Seeing a price of 1 is usually an indication that there is no price information available. Add it m manually. That should work.

b) Can you provide us with an anonymous file. Check the manual for details how to produce it. Please open a separate wish list item for the price source and provide details on how to access it (web-site, etc.).

Dear Mr. Baumgart,

Thank you for the fast response.

   1. As I've originally written, I can not add prices manually as the
securities do NOT appear in the price editor.
   2. As per your request, please find attached the anonymous file,
along with the original report and screen capture of the note
      about missing prices.

Please contact me for any further details.

Dear Mr. Baumgart,

In addition to my former email, please note:

   1. The first security appearing in the "complaints" list is named
Psagot Index Brazil which I've bought on 3 Nov 2009 (at a price
different from 1) and sold about a month later.
   2. During the conversion from KmyMoney ver 2 to ver 4, Kmymoney
created a slightly different security (Psagot index Brazil - note
small i in index vs. I in original, and is complaining about this
      "security"
   3. Yet, most of the 56 problems refer to correct names.

Comment 4 mibadt 2010-11-04 07:03:18 UTC
Dear Mr. Baumgart,

Following yesterday's transactions, there definitely seems there is a
bug in my copy of KmYMoney.

Note the 2 attachments:

   1. File Beta_Caspit is a screen capture from my mutual fund ledger.
You can see that yesterday I've bought a fund named"Beta Caspit)
      at a price of *1.0286*.
   2. Yet, in screen capture Report_Nov3 - the same security is reported
as bought at a *1.0000* price. The *same problem appears in
several *(but not all!) of my transactions yesterday..

Hope that helps..

Best Reagrds,

Go to Tools -> Prices, and check the "show prices for all dates".
For that security, verify if you have the corresponding price entries. You will not, trust me.

Enter those manually, please.

Thank You!

Indeed solved.
