A screenshot showing a blank gray window preview with some strange noise

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

Window previews in the Task Bar mostly display only gray background and some noise sometimes. I'm also experiencing problems with other KDE applications like some parts of the screen are not reapinted correctly. I'm not sure whether it's a KDE-related bug, maybe my video card driver is broken? Please let me know what you think. See the attached screenshot of the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Some more clarification. Window previews are always gray, the noise is that appears only in the case of random windows. This far I think I'm alone with this problem, since I saw this working correctly with others.

Same problem. I have an HP Pavilion dv6920 and I have recently installed Kubuntu 10.10. After getting the latest updates I can no longer see the thumbnails. I just see a gray box.

This is a driver bug. In the duplicate report there are ways described to circumvent the problem. Starting from 4.6.0 there is a GUI option to disable the feature triggering the driver bug.
