Description Todd 2010-10-25 01:12:14 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

I know this is risky behavior, but some users prefer to not use the trash at all. For such situations, it would be helpful if users could set the maximum trash size to 0%. When set to zero, it should probably say "Delete files immediately". or something like that, instead of the 0%.

Reproducible: Always

Did not know that you cannot even disable Trash.
It should be a more intuitive option, such as having a checkbox saying “Disable storage of deleted files in Trash” or “Delete files directly” or “Disable Trash” so, not having to set the size to zero.
And then having the “Move to trashcan” entry in context menus replaced by “Delete file” and the appropriate warning.

I second an explizit 'disable trash' setting, because one not always uses a context menu. <Del> is possible as well there, but w/o <Shift> the 'deleted' files are moved to trash.
