Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.2) OS: Linux With multiple SMTP accounts and having one set as default, even with manaully selecting a SMTP acount to send with the default account is used anyways. This is not good when managing personal and work email accounts. To make sure it wasn't just a configuration issue I renamed all of kmails config files and started over and the problem still happens. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup atleast two SMTP accounts in Kmail 2. Set one as the default account 3. Try sending an email with the non default account Actual Results: The default account is used no matter what happens. Expected Results: Email sent with the selected account when manually selected. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35-ARCH Compiler: gcc
I used all the time 2 differents smtp and it works fine. I can't reproduce this bug
Do you use different Identities for each smtp account? When used this way then Kmail knows to use the correct smtp account, but when there is more than one smtp account setup to use the same Identity then that is where the problem comes in.
I experience a similar symptom, and I *do* use different identities. Since my problem also involves a security risk (right SMTP credentials sent to wrong SMTP server!!!), I will be filing a separate bug report with severity high.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
