Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux I use shaded windows with the setting to temporarily unshade on hover and focus follows mouse. If I hover a shaded Firefox or Chrome window and trigger an alert (window or app modal dialog respectively) and then move the mouse over the dialog or outside the window, the window gets minimized. This is exacerbated by https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81271 because the minimized window does not show as minimized. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Shade a Chrome or Firefox window. 2. Hover the window to unshade it. 3. Trigger an alert. 4a. Move the mouse to the alert. 4b. Move the mouse out of the window. Actual Results: Window is minimized Expected Results: 5a. window stays unshaded, allowing me to close the dialog and return to the using the window 5b. window and dialog shade.

This is not a dupe of 54885. In 54885, the parent window is reshaded when focus moves to the transient, however this bug report is about the parent being *minimized* when it loses focus after a transient is opened. Bug 54885 has been present since the 3.x days (and I learned to live with it). This is a new bug that does not happen at least in 3.5.10. I understand that bug 54885 is probably fairly difficult to fix, but this bug should be easier to fix (losing focus should never cause a window to minimize). Because of this, I suggest that this bug be left separate. It looks like bug 220230 and 227389 are dupes of this new bug and not 54885 as they have been marked.
sorry picked the wrong dup. We get always the same dups for shaded windows, so this happens. Unfortunately there is nobody who fixes the shade bugs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 193611 ***
