Sound like a binary uncompatibility with libdigikam.so library intsalled on your system. As you have compiled digiKam + Showfoto yourself, perhaps you don't have uninstalled digiKam package from your computer before. Also, i recommend to compile 1.5.0 release instead 1.3.0 Gilles Caulier
Thanks for quick responce. I didn't actually have the digikam software installed and after having downloaded and installed it Showfoto is now working perfectly ok.
