- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Powered up PC - put in user password - KDE4 loaded - at desktop hand off - plasma crashed. Have rebooted several times every time I log on it crashes at the hand off from KDE4 to plasma. 
Last thing I did prior to powering down PC was install VirtualBox through package manager. I had not created a Vbox yet, I had just opened the application then exited back out.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
