Description Todd 2010-10-12 19:01:54 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

in certain specific situations, the grid labels on a plot get rounded to the nearest highest digit (largest significant figure). This happens when the largest two digits of the grid spacing are great than 1 and 9, respectively. That is, when the grid spacing is set to 1.9-9.9, 19-99, 190-990. So 19 shows spacing of 19 units, while 19.5, 20.5, 21, 23.5 and so on have labels that increment by 20. The real spacing is correct, only the labels are wrong.

Similarly, 1.9 is correct, while 1.95, 2.05, 2.1, and 2.35 all increment by 2.

I think that if the person specifies rational numbers for the grid spacing, those numbers should be faithfully reproduced in the grid labels (at least if there is sufficient space).

Reproducible: Always
