This happens to me to.

Kopete dosen't minimize to System tray, but the process still runing. If I launch again (without killing the running process) kopete opens but there is not identities to use. It apears as if I'd be running kopete for first time.

I have to "kill -15" kopete and launch it again.
Comment 2 karaluh 2010-12-03 12:53:55 UTC
Still not fixed in 4.5.4. Kopete is unusable because of that.

Try starting from empty KDE session. To do it, shutdown your KDE session, then run "mv $HOME/.kde $HOME/kde-backup" (or $HOME/.kde4 - it depends on your Linux distribution) from console and then start KDE session again. Do this bug happens anyway?

Yes, I verified it using newly created user. It is also verifable on newest Kubuntu live cd.

And what about systray widget settings? There is a list of all widgets/applications docked to systray, and is Kopete in this list? (and is it set up as visible there? ;) And is 'Communications' (or something like that) category enabled in systray?
And can you check is kopete icon present in any other tray implementation (gnome, tint2, any other - doesn't matter)? It can be a bug in KDE tray applet..

No, it's not. In Gnome's tray Kopete also does not appear.
