bad font rendering konsole

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

Since KDE 4.4.0 it's not possible to use several fonts in konsole. My specific problem is with the font SGI Iris, but the problem occurs for other fonts too.
I've been using this font for years in konsole since KDE3.
kfontview at the same time shows these fonts totally correctly rendered.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
start konsole, change the font to SGI Iris or Misc Console or Misc Fixed Wide or Sony Fixed etc.

Actual Results:
The displayed fonts appears rendered always in the same unreadable and wrong manner.

Expected Results:
well the correct appearance of the font, of course
