Version: 4.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.6) OS: Linux Run "kompare foo bar" with at least one different line, edit foo to make it identical to bar and press F5. A popup window tells you that the files are identical, however the view part isn't updated and still shows the (outdated) difference. Reproducible: Didn't try OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35.6 Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
This is exactly the intended behavior. A diff between identical files cannot be displayed (as there's no difference to display), so the files being identical is an error and the last valid difference remains displayed.
Ok, works as designed. I'm wondering whether this design irritates more people than expected. If a busy user is quickly clicking at the "hint" popup window he's faced with a Kompare window showing the difference of 2 files which do not exist (any longer).
