Version: 4.5.2 (using Devel) OS: Linux Guys, In KDE4 4.5.2 (and versions prior) konqueror files to properly place focus on the file or directory in detail or tree view when you click in the area after the file name in the "Name" column. In fact, if the user turns off the annoying red and green selection markers, there is no way to place focus on a file or directory without right-clicking on the actual file or directory name and then canceling the resulting context menu -- horribly inefficient. In KDE3 - it was simple. If you wanted to focus a file or directory you just clicked in the blank area to the right of the filename. If you wanted to launch the file or open the directory, you just clicked on the filename or dirname itself. Clean and efficient. (screenshot attached) This missing feature needs to be taken care of. Without this basic ability konqueror in KDE4 is cumbersome to use detail and tree mode .. and just plain clunky. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: turn off selection markers and try and set focus with the left-mouse on a file or dir without launching it -- it is impossible
Fat fingers.. Line 1 of the report should read: In KDE4 4.5.2 (and versions prior) konqueror fails.....
