Description Karl 2010-10-06 23:33:09 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

kde-plasma-desktop 5:64
konsole 2.4.5

The old operation would display the host name when using ssh.

The new operation shows the directory:bash - knowing I'm running bash is not so useful.

I'm not sure if this is a the task-manager or konsole role - searching the menus did not show any configuration either place.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
open konsole

Actual Results:
Displays less useful information

I miss-wrote - ssh does show host name - it is just that there is better information than showing bash - like a command name or if idle...

After more time - it supplies inconsistent information before the colon.

user:
hostname:

(I think this is a bug - it is too obvious that user@host is more valuable)

Another effect of the bug:
If you su to another user the username is not updated.

The old functionality was usr@host-program which is superior IMO.
I suggest that the string should be "usr@host:program"

The most important information of a shell would be the host and user.

The task manager displays the window title, which currently in konsole is the same as tab title. So just open the edit profile dialog, and choose/define your preferred title formats for local/remote tab .
