screen shot of attempted on-line bug report that failed unable to connect to server

Version: unspecified (using KDE 1.2)
OS: Linux

Today I allowed Ubuntu 10.04 to install recommended updates. After this running kmymoney all ledgers open except my Checking ledger (probably the largest). When I try to open this the progress bar goes to 99% the screen darkens for a while then the entire kmymoneyapplication closes. After this I can relaunch the application with exactly the same result.

I back up each time I use kmymoney and I have gone back several backup Dates and always get the same result.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start kmymoney
on home page select largest ledger (Checking)

Actual Results:
screen darkent
Progress goes to 99%
after a pause application closes

Expected Results:
Ledger would open like all the others do.

Tried on several earlier backups with same result

Can you attach an anonymous version of the file so we can checkout what is going on?

Checkout http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/online-manual/details.formats.anonymous.html to find out more about the anonymous file format. Before attaching the file please make sure that the problem persists with that file and please compress the file.

Other options would be upgrading to 1.0.5 to see if the problem persists. Or to try the KDE4 version (4.5.0). Both can be found in Clay's PPA https://edge.launchpad.net/~claydoh/+archive/ppa and https://edge.launchpad.net/~claydoh/+archive/kmymoney2-kde4

Anonymous file of failed accounts

This file loads but none of the accounts opens.

I also noticed that if I go to backups prior to Aug 19 2010 the files open. About a dozen backups since then exhibit the same fail on the same account.

I followed your suggestion and upgraded to 1.0.5 and it was able to recover the file and open the account correctly/ Many thanks for your help and advice.

There was a problem in schedules in 1.0.4 that caused this kind of behaviour. That was fixed in 1.0.5 .
