Description spamfang1199 2010-10-05 18:46:47 UTC
Application: dolphin (1.4)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Qt Version: 4.6.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 i686
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux testing (squeeze)

-- Information about the crash:
I switched to phonon-backend-vlc. I have pulseaudio installed, as well as alsa-base and linux-sound-base. When I preview a movie in Dolphin, it plays the preview fine. But when I close Dolphin, it crashes EVERYTIME. This may be related to the other bugs I reported today. It seems every application crashes now, when I try to close it. This happens with Kalarm as well as systemsettings -> multimedia.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

I just wanted to add this, to show, that this crash happens really everytime I reproduce the steps from above.

Thanks for the report, but honestly speaking I cannot do anything against this in the scope of Dolphin: The Phonon backend-handling is done in Qt and if other KDE applications crash too in your environment, it is definitely not a Dolphin issue.

I'd kindly ask to that you try a public kde-forum to check, whether other people have observed a similar issue (at least from bugs.kde.org I'm not aware of such a general problem).

Reassigning to Phonon. FYI, Phonon is maintained in KDE and uses this bugtracker as well.

Reassigning to the new bugzilla product for better bug tracing of the various
backends. Sorry for the noise.
