This dump is made on the same computer, but with a fresh user with no existent amarok env.

I also tested this build under another computer ( ati/amd based and 64 bits ) and it works.

So I'm lost about why it crash here ?

This crash only happens on OpenSuSE apparently, there might be a problem with the Scriptbindings.

I have created a file with valgind about the amarok crash
should i add it inline, or as attachment, or should i keep it?

Please all, try starting amarok with the following sequence from a konsole:

amarok -d --nofork

Valgrind is not useful here, as it is about a crash, not about memory loss. We have enough backtraces, but only from OpenSuSE users so far, so I suspect a distribution related issue.

Tried this -d --nofork and Amarok crashed at the same point.  That is 
right after the bootsplash.

There is a problem with the QtScriptbindings apparently, please take this to the OpenSuSE packagers and report back.

I can't reproduce this here with current Amarok 2.4-git, KDE 4.52 and Qt 4.7.0 on Kubuntu 10.10

Myriam also working now ( I use the factory version of openSUSE actually )

I am using a i586 DVD that checks OK while loading.  Included is a short 
"rpm -qa"
kde4-filesystem-4.5.1-2.1.i586,  qt3-3.3.8b-105.8.i586, 
qt3-devel-3.3.8b-105.8.i586.and 4 was selected on the DVD.

The reason I don;t use openSuSE;s version is due to the lack of playing 
MP3 which I have 910 mixed ogg and mp3.
I do know you can go to openSuSE.org and get the instruction for MP3 
version.

Christoph, so it's the conjunction of nvidia update (260.19.12) & kde 4.4.4 (mainly on openSUSE).

Anyway, you affect the bug to a version of nvidia, I've never used. I've used the 260.19.04 (latest béta before the release)

My last report of working is also made on the 260.19.12 release, so the nvidia update is not the only culprit, one of the update inside kde/amarok has resolve the case.

I don't know, who has found the bug is caused by the NVIDIA driver update.
But, i try it :)
i'm using default the "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260.19.12.run" 
With this, amarok AND Virtualbox crashed with a "Floating point exception"
So, i have changed down to "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.44.run"
and both works ok, amarok AND Virtualbox.

260.19.12 seems so, that this is actually the newest one from NVIDIA.
Does anybody knows about a newer version, that works with amarok?
If yes, please give me the url :)

Rudi, I'm working with the 260.19.12 and before that the 260.19.04 béta.
and everything works.

The crash initially reported was certainly with 253 :-) 

The actual flame about nvidia, is not surely determined, it seems to be related to some hardware but is not yet determined.
I've here quadro FX360M and GTS8800 working ...

I tried your suggestion on NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.44.run on this openSuSE 11.4 system with a current kernel and I now remember why I the .run fails.  So, I use the other 260.19.12.run.  That is because NVIDIA 256.44 will not build and install in the /lib/modules/kernel#.  I am not sure why but even the name is the same 2.6.36.

amarok (2.4-GIT) on KDE Platform 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) using Qt 4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Started it in a xterm to bing it up using 
"strace -o amarok.err amarok"
looking for the problem I moved /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor to /tmp.  No help so I will move it back ,

Now the Bug Reports show the data is valid and of use.  Amarok still fails in the same way hee

Donn, please talk to the OpenSuSE people, this is not an Amarok bug, but caused by a Nvidia driver update.
