Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.5) OS: Linux My KMail is connected to an IMAP server, and I have the "load attachments on demand" setting enabled. When I receive a HTML mail that contains inline attached images, they aren't shown. Apparently viewing those does not count towards the "on demand" loading of attachments. When I view the message source the entire message is downloaded, and images are displayed correctly. Expected behaviour: viewing a HTML mail with attached inline images shows the images too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Set up an IMAP account with "load attachments on demand" enabled. Open a HTML mail with inline attached images. Actual Results: Images are not shown. Instead a placeholder is shown with the filename in it. Expected Results: The attached images are loaded from the IMAP server and shown. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-25-generic Compiler: cc
I have the same problem, using KMail/Kontact 4.4.6 and KDE SC 4.5.1 on Kubuntu 10.10. My mom had no idea how she could see the images, I had to tell her to double click messages to open them in a window so the image does download. This is an annoying bug for novice users and it occurs often, while I imagine it’s not difficult to fix. Hopefully the KMail developers could give some priority to solving this bug?
I should also mention that I forwarded one of those e-mails with an inline image so I could view them with KMail 4.6 beta 4. That version doesn’t seem to have this bug.
Is the "load attachments on demand" option still available in kmail2 resp. Akonadi IMAP? I can't find it at all. So we might want to close this bug ticket and open a new wishlist for that functionality instead.
Not finding it here on KMail 4.9.2, didn't even noticed the problem was caused by using IMAP
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
