Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux It use to be that while the background was transparent the text remained opaque. This made using a transparent background much more attractive. I'm not sure if this is intentional or accidental, but I thought I'd report it. Reproducible: Always
I know this is an old report, but could you please elaborate on this regression? I fail to notice the difference between KDE 4.4.x and KDE 4.5.x on this issue. The git history does not show any suspicious commit which might cause behavior changes on this issue. Are you sure there is really a regression, or this issue really exists?
To be honest at this point I can't be sure if it was a regression it's been so long. However, I am sure it is still happening in 4.7.3 at least. I'm attaching a small piece of a window at a border with a bitmap font (Terminus) so you can get a clear image when scaling up. You can easily measure the difference in color of the text depending on the background with this sample.

OK, thanks for the feedback
I can't replicate this on Konsole's current releases. Michael can you please confirm if this is an issue with current releases.
