Description Berend Dekens 2010-09-28 13:56:08 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

According to bug #250130, a fix to switch to OAuth should be committed to KDE 4.5 but my uBlog plasmoid still uses basic authentication (verified by using Wireshark) instead of OAuth.

Unless there is some special way to tell the widget to switch to OAuth, it is still broken: it keeps asking for a password after the server rejected the basic authentication.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter credentials, save.
2. Wait 10 seconds, authentication window pops up.
3. Enter again, go back to 2.

Actual Results:
None of the tweets show up because the authentication fails.

Expected Results:
Timeline gets refreshed and tweets load.

I am running KDE 4.5.1 and I had this problem since Twitter disabled the basic authentication. I wiped my profile and re-added the plasmoid multiple times - nothing works and it keeps sticking to basic auth.
