Hi, I've just realized that the problem was not the account itself but rather my password. I had used a password with spaces! I am using plain text password transmission over SSL.
I confirm this ! :) using spaces in password doesn't work fine with gmail
I think this bug can be closed, as white spaces works now with 4.7.0
