-- Information about the crash:
I right clicked on the quicklaunch panel app. that was already in my panel. Chose add launcher. The window with the apps list came up and I thought the input box was a place to search for the app I wanted to add. Obviously not, because when I typed in the name of the app and hit enter, the whole desktop went black, then the Crash Reporting Assistant came up, and the desktop came back. That's all I really remember. It said my crash report wasn't worth nothing, so I had to install the debugging symbols, then I had to make an acct. so it happened like an hour ago. Sorry. I hope my crash report is more helpful than my explaination.

I don't know if this helps any, but I went back and looked at what the input box was that I typed in. It wasn't a search. It was actually where the file path to the executable goes, I think.

this should be closed, quicklaunch has mostly been rewritten for kde 4.5 so that crash should already be fixed.

Thanks for the optimistic view, but as the person who did the rewrite, I have to add that the particular part that triggered the crash for Superdope hasn't been changed during the rewrite.

I suspect that this was not a quicklaunch bug in the first place, but that it triggered a bug somewhere else (that may well be fixed by now), but I haven't had time to investigate yet and I'd like to keep the bug open until I know more.

I just gave this some time, but I'm unable to reproduce the crash. Probably the underlying issue has been fixed. Please reopen if you can reproduce on KDE SC 4.5.x.
