We already have "installed" section. It would be cool, to have one that will only show stuff that is updateable.

it could be nice to have an option somewhere (in kcm) where to manage if these updates should proceed (or not) automatically

This is fixed with the new QtQuick dialog, but not for the old QWidgets dialog. We should make sure to implement BUG 163052 also for the QWidgets dialog.

Also an API for automatic updating would be nice, agreed :-).
