Description Steven Sroka 2010-09-21 01:38:06 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

Power profiles do not always automatically switch when I plug in my AC Adapter for my laptop or unplug the adapter.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Unplug AC adapter, see if visual effects become disabled or if indexing is paused. If there is a change, plug AC Adapter into laptop and see if changes revert.

Note: it's easier to notice when you unplug the AC adapter when fully booted and logged in, then restart the computer, login and plug in the AC adapter. openSUSE notices the adapter is now plugged in because the battery begins charging, but the power profile has not changed.

Expected Results:
The power profiles automatically switch based on how the laptop is running (plugged in; not plugged in; or in presentation mode)

For anyone having this issue, you can manually change the profile by left clicking the battery icon in the taskbar and choosing the power profile that openSUSE should have automatically loaded for you.
