Description Oleg Atamanenko 2010-09-20 21:17:20 UTC
Version: 1.6.5 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

Currently Akregator loads external resources from feed only when user tries to view it. I use a lot of photo blogs, which have a lot of rather big photos. So I have to wait until all photos are downloaded to read the article.

it will be great if feature of 'autoloading external content' will be implemented in akregator.

Also, it will be great if these external resources will be stored in akregator cache, so they will not be redownloaded each time I read/view feed.

Thank you!

Reproducible: Always

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-ARCH
Compiler: gcc

I have exactly the opposite wish: Do not load any external resources. (E.g., I do not want to see embedded google adverts in the feeds.) Just like emails have an option not to load external content. (Privacy risk.)

To combine this and the previous poster's wishes: Please add the following configuration option to the "Feeds" settings (i.e. specific to each feed):
(1) Preload all external content
(2) Load external content when looking at post
(3) Never load external content automatically.

Thanks!
