Description Jose 2010-09-20 11:55:56 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

Adium themes don't work correctly in Kopete, specially recent ones which don't render at all. As they are designed to work with webkit, it would be better if the chat window was rendered by QtWebkit instead of KHTML, specially now that it's better integrated since KDE 4.5.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Use a theme like Renkoo http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=2160
Animations are not displayed.

If you use a theme like Ravenant http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=6766 it's not rendered at all.

Actual Results:
Animations, transparencies and advanced features are not displayed.

Expected Results:
Everything is displayed correctly, including animations and transparencies.

Other reason to use WebKit is a better image scaling. Avatars/photos scaled by KHTML looks ugly.

+1 KHTML has many merits and Webkit was born from it, but today KHTML is like the IE of linux (yes, it's that bad, sorry...)
Using webkit would bring kopete's themes to the 21th century.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
