Description Axel Guckelsberger 2010-09-17 15:36:36 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

It would be very useful if it would be possible to take influence on which mail accounts (and maybe folders) are used for calculated the amount of unread mails in the system tray icon. This way one could exclude accounts where mails are unread on purpose.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Actual Results:
The tray icon shows the number of all unread mails in all accounts.

Expected Results:
The tray icon shows the number of all unread mails in some selected accounts (and maybe folders).

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2
Comment 3 Axel Guckelsberger 2012-08-19 07:03:31 UTC
Yes, it is still valid. I changed the component to kmail2 accordingly.

Per folder this is possible now, see "Act on new/unread mail in this folder" in the Folder properties.
Per account, it is not. However, Bug #310247 is asking for extending folder inheritance for this (and more) features, which is a similar approach, yet more consistent with the current featureset.
Therefore I propose resolving this as a duplicate of Bug #310247.
