Same here... Not able to use kopete, all akonadi resources crash. I'm using MySql as backend.

Yes, also using gentoo. Akonadi version is: ~ $ akonadictl --version Akonadi 1.5.0 KDE & Kopete version is: 4.4.5 I'm afraid I cannot provide better backtraces as I don't have gdm installed. But all the resources crash with: "Signal: 11 (Segmentation fault)"

According to the Gentoo gurus, you're mixing stables and unstables branches. Two solutions: - Don't do that or fill a bug report on the Gentoo bug tracker, - Update your KDE version to 4.6
