Description Roman Fietze 2010-09-15 14:29:55 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

The notification creates about 40-50% load on one CPU of a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+ when animating the button e.g. while a copy process in still in progress (in my case a large konqueror fish/ssh copy with about 120 KiB/s).

As soon as the copy is finished, the load of Xorg goes back to almost zero.

Using xorg-x11-7.4-35.3.x86_64 on openSUSE 11.2 with the fglrx64_7_4_0_SUSE112-8.753-1.x86_64 created from the files directly from the ATI servers.

Reproducible: Always

i think i can reproduce this with the nouveau driver.
Comment 2 Aaron J. Seigo 2011-12-03 17:32:27 UTC
if this is driver specific, then it's an upstream bug. but it doesn't take much cpu (<2% at all times) here.
Comment 3 Roman Fietze 2011-12-03 21:02:35 UTC
Sorry for not checking that more often.

Either one of the KDE updates (last time seen end of 11.3, KDE 4.5.1+) or the ATI fglrx updates has fixed it.

Now:

openSUSE 11.4
fglrx64_xpic_SUSE114-8.892-1.x86_64
