Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux When using openbox as KDE WM, using system configuration, the menus of kde panel, including kickoff, the old-fashioned one, the calendar, and other widgets appear torn and at the top of the screen, indeed only the "bottom" of them appear and I have to grab them, as it were windows. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Choose openbox (it must be installed of course - tested with 3.4.11.2) as KDE WM with KDE system configurator software (preferred applications - something like that - Window Mannager) and restart KDE session. Just click on "K" to see main menu. Actual Results: The menus and other widgets will appear on the top of the screen! Expected Results: The menus and other widgets that can be loaded from the panel must unfold from the menu.
What happens if you use other window managers? It looks like openbox does not correctly handle the NETWM window types KDE needs for its panel.
