Could you check what the correct name of that messaging program is? Possible names are "Kopete", "KMess", or "Pidgin".

KMess is not part of the KDE Software Compilation. To get support for this program, ask on the KMess forum via http://kmess.org/ If you are sure there is a KMess bug, you can report it at their bug tracker at http://trac.kmess.org/
